Merlin Trust Update

The Operators and Buyers of the Merlin properties made contact with an update again this week. They have explained that under the current restrictions in Spain it is impossible to conclude any major financing deals, and so they are currently in a holding pattern. They expect that they will emerge from restrictions in “mid-May” and then will resume the transaction, with the plan to have acquired at least 2 of the 3 properties by June. We will seek a further update in 2 weeks.

On a human note, they are finding working in large residential care homes under these conditions difficult and are anxious to be able to ease restrictions on themselves, their staff and their elderly residents.
