Merlin Trust - Update August 2020

We are pleased to confirm that on Friday the 14th August the final sale of the Merlin assets was completed formally at the offices of the official Notary in Seville, and the Falcon Merlin bank account is now in receipt of the full funds for the sale. Thank you to all of the people who worked so hard to get this completed in the current difficult circumstances

The proceeds from the sales are now held in custody by Bank of Valletta in Malta on behalf of the Trust. This means that those beneficiaries who have correctly completed their outstanding AML documentation can expect to receive the payments quite soon. For those who have yet to complete their AML documentation, money can only be sent to you when you have correctly completed your forms. If you do not have access to professional support for this process and you are in the UK, an authorised IFA firm has offered to support you in this matter without charge. There are a number of administrative tasks that need to take place prior to the distribution of funds to make sure that these final distributions are completed correctly, and this will take a couple of weeks. We will plan to provide an update early in September setting out the plans for remittances and completion.
