Oasis Atlantico Update - August 2020

The Management Team at Oasis continue to keep us up to date with the evolving situation in these fluid and complicated times.

Their hotel in Morocco has now been open for a couple of weeks and is operating slightly ahead of budget based on domestic trade only. There are good advanced bookings for the first half of August and they continue to expand the opening of the hotel.

Cape Verde as a tourist destination is experiencing a challenge in that it is still on the list of countries from which travellers (such as returning holidaymakers) arriving into the EU will have to isolate. The Cape Verde government is working hard to seek changes. They need to ensure the number of cases they have is below a particular threshold of numbers per 100,000, and because of the low population, this means Cape Verde needs to get below 10 cases. They are actually quite close to this, and so they are hoping and aiming for flights to open up from the 15th August.

As a consequence, Oasis is planning to start opening a hotel for TUI customers from the 1st September.

I hope you will join me in thanking the management team for their regular updates and in wishing them well as they continue to respond to the emerging situation.
